Privacy Policy

SiteVault is built privacy-first. The Chrome extension runs entirely in your browser — we do not collect analytics or telemetry from the extension, and your Master PIN never leaves your device.

No account is required. All vault data, settings, and optional Intruder Photo Capture stills stay on your device unless you explicitly opt into future cloud features when we offer them.

All extension data stays on your device, including:

• Vault sites and lock preferences
• Site lists and Child Lock Allowlist
• A SHA-256 hash of your Master PIN (not the PIN itself)
• Local usage statistics shown in extension Settings (locks, unlocks — not sent to us)
• Intruder Photo Capture stills, if enabled (stored locally only)

The extension does not track browsing history outside sites you add to your Vault, does not upload your data, and does not sell or share your information.

The marketing website (https://getsitevault.com) does not receive your vault data from the extension. We may use privacy-focused analytics on the website only to understand traffic and improve the site:

• Vercel Analytics — aggregated page views and performance metrics
• Microsoft Clarity — heatmaps and session recordings on the website only, when configured in production. The extension is not included.

These tools apply to the website, not the browser extension.

Local extension data remains on your device until you uninstall the extension or clear extension storage. We do not store extension vault data on our servers.

Your PIN is hashed locally before storage. No system is perfectly secure; use a strong PIN and keep your backup code in a safe place.

SiteVault is not directed at children under 13. Child Lock is a supervised-browsing feature for parents and guardians; we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy as the product evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
